Megan Nicole Williams is a doctoral candidate in the Psychology department at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Human Behavior and Origins Laboratory. Her research explores how smell affects human social behaviors and decision-making. She examines what information is potentially conveyed via an individual’s body odor and how that information impacts the way other’s assess the individual’s mate value. In addition to laboratory experiments with Western samples, Megan also works with the Hadza, foragers living around the Lake Eyasi basin in Northern Tanzania.
